Why We Carry It

Activated charcoal is a classic I like to keep in my back pocket. It's very porous, so it can grab onto unwanted substances in your gut and carry them out. It isn't meant for everyday use, and I have patients take it at least two hours apart from medications and other supplements, since it can affect how those are absorbed.
